Hi, my name is Merish Farooq Mohammad. I was born and raised in Hong Kong and have been here my whole life. I am currently pursuing an M.Ed. degree at the University of Hong Kong. I completed my PGDE at the same university! Moreover, I took the opportunity to do a diploma for English LIterature at the University of York.
I have worked as a teacher for 7 years, shifting from Early Years to Primary within that time frame. I did an internship at a primary school in Turkey for three months and was really impressed by how the education system worked there! After my internship, I came back to Hong Kong and had my first experience as a Primary Teacher at an international school.
Teaching has always been my passion. At my previous schools, I was typically the one who would speak for change in the curriculum or assessments in order to level the playing field for all students. When I am not teaching, you will find me in front of the TV playing video games or hiking in Lantau!
