My name is Isabele Silva. I was born and raised in Brazil, and growing up in a local monolingual community sparked a strong desire to seek experiences in cultures outside of my own.
After completing my Bachelor of Psychology at the Federal University of Bahia, I moved to the USA to accomplish my dream of living abroad. While there, I acquired an Associate Degree in Interpretation of Spoken Languages and Translation.
During my travels, being exposed to people from various walks of life, I developed an intense passion for languages as I often reflected upon how humans are multifaceted and communicate distinctively. This led me to pursue a career in the field of ESL. I moved to Asia in 2015 to work as an English teacher and fell in love with the vibrancy of Hong Kong.
I deeply respect people from diverse backgrounds and it is very fulfilling to be part of HKCA Po Leung Kuk School, a community which truly values the ideologies that I have carried within me all my life. I am eager to cultivate an atmosphere of respect, critical thinking, and perpetual inquiry among the students that are in my care.
